Will Ellen DeGeneres return as Oscars host this year? (Poll)

Oscar producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan are already confirmed to return to their posts for the next ceremony. Will they bring along last year’s host Ellen DeGeneres for another turn at the podium?

It will be the third time for Meron and Zadan in charge of the Academy Awards. Actor, comedian, and animator Seth MacFarlane was their choice in 2012.

The ceremony last March was the highest-rated since 2000 and was a big hit on social media. That was largely due to the selfie DeGeneres took with such stars as Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Lupita Nyong’o, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Meryl Streep.

Take our new poll below, and let us know who you think will be selected to host the next Oscars.

If not DeGeneres, will the producers go back to the well with a past emcee like Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Hugh Jackman, MacFarlane, Steve Martin, or Chris Rock?

Could it be another daytime host like past nominee Queen Latifah, who has held the reins at the Grammys? How about previous Golden Globes lightning rod Ricky Gervais?

Maybe a two-time Oscar champ such as Tom Hanks or Kevin Spacey (known for his impressions plus singing and dancing)? Neil Patrick Harris has a film career taking off and has already hosted the Emmys and Tonys multiple times. Would Will Ferrell be too much of a loose cannon to be the host?

An out-of-the-box choice like Justin Timberlake, who has hosted several live events plus “Saturday Night Live“, might not be out of bounds.

How about ABC’s very own late night host Jimmy Kimmel, who works right across the street from the Dolby Theater?

You will not see the names of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler below since they are already signed up for the Golden Globes a few weeks earlier.
