26 of 30 Oscar Experts predict ‘The Great Beauty’ will win Foreign Language Film

Twenty-six of our 30 Oscar Experts predict that Globe and BAFTA champ “The Great Beauty” will win Best Foreign-Language Film at Sunday’s Oscars. That support gives it leading odds of 2/9.

While Italy is the country with the most wins in this category (10), it has not prevailed since “Life is Beautiful” in 1998. However, two other films pose a threat to Italy breaking its losing streak.

Belgium’s “The Broken Circle Breakdown” has the backing of two Experts – Thelma Adams (Yahoo) and Matt Atchity (Rotten Tomatoes) – and has 12/1 odds.

Another pair of Experts – Guy Lodge (Hit Fix) and Claudia Puig (USA Today) – are predicting Denmark’s “The Hunt,” starring Mads Mikkelsen, which also gets odds of 12/1.

Representing Palestine, “Omar” has odds of 50/1.

And Cambodia’s “The Missing Picture” is the longshot with odds of 100/1.
