Why does Hollywood Reporter Oscar seer Scott Feinberg predict “Interstellar” will win Best Picture? In our podcast chat, he notes that Christopher Nolan‘s new blockbuster will probably have broad support across the tech categories, adding, “And, as we know, the movie with the most nominations generally wins unless it comes up against something that is more emotionally satisfying or a more stirring experience like ’12 Years a Slave.'”
In the race for Best Actress, “I think Julianne Moore is the clear, clear frontrunner,” he says. “Among actresses who still haven’t won an Oscar, there is no one more respected or admired. In ‘Still Alice,’ she performs a person dealing with early-onset Alzheimer’s – just the kind of role that the academy often responds to.”
