Sandra Bullock, ‘Big Bang Theory,’ Justin Timberlake win big at People’s Choice Awards

Sandra Bullock cleaned up at the People’s Choice Awards, sweeping Favorite Movie Actress, Comedic Movie Actress, Dramatic Movie Actress, and Movie Duo (with George Clooney in “Gravity“). On top of that, her films “The Heat” and “Gravity” won Favorite Comedic Movie and Dramatic Movie, respectively. Film awards also went to Johnny Depp (Movie Actor), Robert Downey Jr. (Action Movie Star), and Leonardo DiCaprio (Dramatic Movie Actor).

CBS did well on the TV side. “The Big Bang Theory” won Favorite TV Comedy and star Kaley Cuoco won Comedic TV Actress. “The Good Wife” was the Favorite TV Drama, while its star Josh Charles was awarded Dramatic TV Actor. Freshman comedy “The Crazy Ones” won Sarah Michelle Gellar Favorite Actress in a New TV Series.

Cable TV favorites included “The Walking Dead” (Cable TV Drama), “Psych” (Cable TV Comedy), and “Homeland” (Premium Cable Series), while “Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale was awarded Cable TV Actress. “Orange is the New Black” was the Favorite Streaming Series.

Justin Timberlake was a big winner among musicians, taking Male Artist, R&B Artist, and Album (“The 20/20 Experience“). Katy Perry won Favorite Song and Music Video, both for “Roar,” though she lost Female Artist to Demi Lovato. Young women did well in other music categories also: recent AMA-winner Ariana Grande won Breakout Artist, and Taylor Swift won Country Artist.

Britney Spears won Favorite Pop Artist, the first People’s Choice Award in her 15-year career.
