Showtime is really putting on quite a show for Emmy FYC

Television Academy members just received Showtime’s Emmy FYC box (above), which contains more episodes of “Masters of Sex” and “Ray Donovan” on top of what voters recently received with a copy of Emmy Magazine.

Released a few weeks ago, the second June issue of Emmy Magazine — which goes to all academy members — featured “Orphan Black” star Tatiana Maslany on the cover in an eye-popping red dress, but it was cleverly upstaged by an advertorial cover featuring “Masters of Sex” stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan. A wrap-around sheath binding the two covers together was a promotion for “Ray Donovan.” Inside was further promo for “Ray Donovan” plus two DVDs with sample episodes of both TV series.

Bottom line: There’s no way Emmy voters can get around Showtime’s top two new contenders this year. So far they’ve received six episodes of those shows in toto, plus more programming.

Meantime, all Showtime content eligible for Emmy consideration can be streamed on line at the slickly designed screening site – click here – that can be accessed using the user code shipped inside the Emmy FYC box. Showtime was the first network to stream its contenders on line for Emmy voters years ago and now it’s expanding its offerings across mobile platforms.
