Now that the 29th season of “Survivor” has begun, our Editors are just itching (like Josh Canfield‘s eyes) to tell you what we loved and hated about the super-sized premiere episode of “San Juan del Sur – Blood vs. Water.”
Joining me in this week’s “Survivor” slugfest are Gold Derby Senior Editors Rob Licuria and Matt Noble as we dish the new season’s highs and lows. Watch the slugfest below.
Among our favorite new contestants are Josh and his actor boyfriend Reed Kelly, Baylor Wilson and her thrice-divorced mother Missy Payne and the Sri Lankan “twinnies” Nadiya Anderson and Natalie Anderson. And while we’re on the subject of Josh and Baylor, what exactly caused him to vote for Baylor anyway?
We’re bummed that the entertaining Nadiya got sent packing so soon, especially with the deplorable John Rocker, the arrogant Drew Christy and the so-far-forgettable Barbie/Ken couple Jaclyn Schultz and Jon Misch still in the competition.
We also take issue with the rock-paper-scissors set-up for the reward challenge that pitted loved one (Jeremy Collins) against loved one (Val Collins). Is there really no better way to determine which players will square off? And is the return of Exile Island going to be too boring for viewers to sit through each week?
According to exclusive Gold Derby racetrack odds, Reed has the best shot of winning the season with leading 17/2 odds. And there’s currently a tie for second place, with Jon and Josh both at 9/1 odds.
Be sure to cast your own votes for who’ll win by using our easy drag-and-drop menu below. You can also predict who will be voted out next, which tribe will win Immunity, and so much more by logging into your predictions and clicking on the “Survivor: San Juan del Sur” button.
