‘The Amazing Race’ prediction: Is time up for Timothy & Te Jay?

The next episode of “The Amazing Race” is likely to be the end of the road for Timothy and Te Jay according to the latest odds generated by the predictions of Gold Derby users.  This temperamental twosome avoided the chop last week only because it was a non-elimination leg. However, even though they have the added burden of a Speed Bump this week, they may not be the best wager for you to make, strategically speaking.

When you make your predictions at Gold Derby you can win prizes (cash, a chance to chat directly with ‘Amazing Race’ contestants) and earn an honored place atop our official leaderboards of the smartest reality TV prophets. However, to get there you sometimes have to take chances to rack up points.

To that end, consider Adam and Bethany as an option to wager on this week. These surfers, who have one first-place finish and three second-place showings, hit choppy waters last week. Because they have longer odds (9 to 1) than Timothy and Te Jay (3 to 1), you would earn more game points if they go.

If Adam and Bethany get eliminated next Friday and you bet the standard sum of 100 points, you’ll nab 900  points for that correct answer. But, remember, you get to place one special 200-point bet on one of the four questions when making your predix. Do that for the question “Which team will be eliminated?” and you can earn 1,800 points if they exit.

Among our users already making their predictions, four of them aced all four of our questions last week, including which team would win this leg — married dentists Misti and Jim — as well as whether they would need the Save (no) and if surfers Adam and Bethany would use the Express Pass (also no). That they each scored a different amount of points comes from when they locked in their predictions. Remember, the odds keep changing right up until the show airs on the east coast.

Isn’t it time for you to take on other fans of this 10-time Emmy champ and show them how it is done by predicting who will win (and lose) each leg, whether Misti and Jim will have to use the Save, if the Express Pass will be used, and which team will be take home the million dollar prize.
