Alex Sharp on depicting autism and winning Tony for ‘Curious Incident’ (Video)

Actor Alex Sharp may have won Best Actor in a Play at the Tony Awards for his role as autistic Christopher in “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” but he says that “you can’t compare art” and marvels at being in the company of his fellow nominees. For him, “I feel like I’ve won it for my character Christopher and for people like Christopher, people that he represents. I feel like that’s where the victory lies, not over my competitors.”

The recent Juilliard graduate adds, “That’s the most rewarding part of playing this character in this play, is that people from that community, people like Christopher, and there are a lot of different people like Christopher, in a lot of different ways, are spoken to by this part.”
