Not long ago, “Boyhood” looked like the clear favorite to sweep the awards season on its way to an easy Oscar victory for Best Picture, but the PGA Awards, lately a spot-on predictor of Oscar, picked “Birdman” and thus put the whole awards season into question.

So who will BAFTA choose this Sunday? And if the British academy disagrees with PGA by picking “Boyhood,” as will be the case according to our racetrack odds, what does that mean for the Oscar race? BAFTA has a pretty good track record previewing Oscar too, picking the last six Best Picture champs in a row.
