Taylor Swift leads all nominees for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. She and her album “1989” pick up 14 nominations, just ahead of Sam Smith (13), Iggy Azalea (12), and Meghan Trainor (9). In addition to Swift and Smith, nominees for Artist of the Year are Ariana Grande, One Direction, and Katy Perry. Final nominees are based on a combination of album sales, digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring, and social media interactions. The ABC ceremony will be hosted by Ludacris on May 17. Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel are among the top nominees for the 19th annual Webby Awards. An awards push is expected for past Oscar nominee Lily Tomlin, and other cast members include Marcia Gay Harden, Julia Garner, Judy Greer, Laverne Cox, and Sam Elliott. Actor James Best dies in North Carolina on Tuesday at age 88. He was best known as the bumbling sheriff Rosco P.
