No one was eliminated last week on “Dancing With the Stars” following the surprise withdrawal of Tamar Braxton due to illness. But Monday night’s show is expected to cut the roster from four contestants to three before the mirror ball trophy is awarded Tuesday night. Who will be sent home on the eve of the finale? Click here for our complete predictions for Monday night’s show.
Other than last week when our users correctly predicted that everyone would be safe, Alek Skarlatos has been forecast for elimination every week since the “Halloween Special” a month ago, but he’s been consistently escaping the axe. Now our contest entrants are predicting him to go yet again: 48% of us think he’ll fall just short of the finale, resulting in odds of 11/10.
Next in line for elimination is Carlos PenaVega, even though he tied Bindi Irwin for the top judges’ score during last week’s semi-finals. Is it even possible for him to be eliminated after tying for the top spot? Unfortunately for him, it is. That’s exactly what happened to gymnast Nastia Liukin last season: she tied for the top of the judges’ leaderboard, but then was eliminated in fourth place. 23% of our users are feeling deja vu and predict the same will happen to PenaVega, giving him odds of 10/3.
Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter may not be as safe as he has been in weeks past. He struggled during last week’s pivotal semi-finals and unexpectedly landed at the bottom of the leaderboard, so he’ll have to rely on his fans to rescue him from elimination. Most of our predictors expect him to advance, but 17% think his errors will cost him the competition, giving him 5/1 odds of going home.
If Bindi Irwin is ousted, it will be one of the show’s biggest upsets ever, but 5% of users are taking a chance and betting on her premature exit, giving her odds of 20/1.
But when it comes to predicting the winner this season, Irwin, who has gotten the top judges’ score seven times so far with Emmy-winning pro partner Derek Hough, continues to extend her commanding lead. She now gets odds of 4/11 based on support from 74% of those making predictions, up from 68% who were predicting her to prevail this time last week.
Meanwhile, Carter has lost ground. He holds on to second place, with 15% of prediction votes and 11/2 odds (down from 19% and 4/1 odds last week). Skarlatos is third with 4% of users’ support and odds of 25/1, while PenaVega trails with 2% support and odds of 40/1.
