The second night of this week’s two-night “Dancing With the Stars” event didn’t end well for Triple Crown-winning jockey Victor Espinoza, who was eliminated after posting a low judges score on Monday night (17 out of 30). His performance improved on Tuesday night (scoring 20), but it was too little too late.

Jumping to the top of the judges’ leaderboard for the first time this season was singer and talk show host Tamar Braxton, who posted a high score of 25 out of 30. This was her first time winning the night, after the previous two shows were dominated by wildlife conservationist Bindi Irwin. Getting the night’s lowest score was actor Gary Busey, who dropped to 15 points after improving to 18 on Monday night.
Because there were two nights of performances and two nights of eliminations, there were two answers to each of our prediction questions: high score (Irwin on Monday, Braxton on Tuesday), low score (Chaka Khan on Monday, Busey on Tuesday) and elimination (Khan on Monday, Espinoza on Tuesday). So who among our users were able to capitalize on this week’s double results?
Five predictors scored 100%: John Benutty, Gustavo Cruz E Silva, Denton Davidson, FreemanGriffin and Stendu. Of those, Benutty received the week’s top score with 14,100 game points. How did he do so well? He made good use of his bets, placing 500 points on Khan’s elimination when she was at 20/1 odds, so that prediction alone netted him 10,000 points. He got another 3,200 points by betting 200 on Braxton’s high score at 16/1 odds. The last 900 points were the result of betting 200 on Busey’s low score at 9/2 odds. Keep your point bets in mind making your predictions: coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering the week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (one of 500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a long shot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points. As we use those point totals to break ties when more than one user tops our leaderboard with the same number of correct predictions (as happened this week), don’t take them for granted.
After two weeks of predictions, there’s a tie on our overall users’ leaderboard: Benutty, Denton Davidson and Ain’t No Elitist have scored 67% accuracy (four out of six correct) after two weeks. But it’s too soon to tell who will come out on top at season’s end. However, it’s wise never to underestimate Davidson, who won our “So You Think You Can Dance” contest for season 11 last summer, as well as “The Voice” season eight and “American Idol” season 14. And Benutty took the top spot predicting “Survivor: Worlds Apart.”
Test your mettle against them by making your own predictions from week to week. Make sure you refer to Tuesday night’s score below when betting on next week’s show.
