On Sunday Andy Samberg will host the Primetime Emmy Awards for the first time. Just days before the big event, which will be telecast live on FOX beginning at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET., he confesses to Gold Derby that his biggest fear is “falling, falling to my death.” (Watch our interview below). For the star of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “that would be the worst case scenario.” And while that would certainly put a damper on the kudocast, Samberg admits he is excited about “everything else. if I don’t fall to my death, I’ll consider it a win.”
Samberg won an Emmy on his first-ever bid back in 2007 for Best Music and Lyrics, sharing the award with Justin Timberlake for ‘Dick in a Box.’ He has been nominated a further five times in that category, without a win. And last Saturday he was part of the team contending for Variety Special Writing for the “Saturday Night Live: 40th Anniversary Special,” but was edged out by Louis C.K. or his stand-up stint “Live at the Comedy Store.”
