Lynn Elber (Associated Press) tops all Experts at predicting the Emmy Awards winners at Gold Derby with 63% correct. For our champ, some of her best out-of-the-box predictions were for Uzo Aduba (“Orange is the New Black”) for Best Drama Supporting Actress, Tony Hale (“Veep”) for Best Comedy Supporting Actor, and “Transparent” for Best Comedy Directing.

Among our total of 18 Experts predicting Emmy winners, second place is a tie between Pete Hammond (Deadline) and Matt Roush (TV Guide) with 57% accuracy.
We then have a six-way tie for third place: Robert Bianco (USA Today), Debra Birnbaum (Variety), Sarah Ricard (Rotten Tomatoes), Lynette Rice (Entertainment Weekly), Paul Sheehan (Gold Derby), and Glenn Whipp (L.A. Times) at 54%.
Joyce Eng (TV Guide) and Jaret Wieselman (Buzzfeed) follow with half of the 32 categories correct. Then it’s Tom O’Neil (Gold Derby) with 47% correct. Next up is Matthew Jacobs (Huffington Post) at 44% and then Michael Ausiello (TV Line) with 41%.
The last few prediction scores are by Ken Tucker (Yahoo) at 38%, Eric Deggans (NPR) at 35%, John Griffiths (Us Weekly), and Richard Lawson (Vanity Fair).
Among the predictor groups, the best performance was by our Editors with 46.88% accuracy. Every other group is tied with 43.75% correct: Experts, Top 24 Users (those two dozen folks who had done the best predicting last year’s winners), and overall Users.
