While our Users are overwhemingly predicting that “Modern Family” will claim a record-breaking sixth consecutive Comedy Series prize at the upcoming Emmys, their wish list is topped by “Parks and Recreation” and “Veep.” Likewise, over on the drama side of the Emmys ledger, they expect “House of Cards” to win Best Drama Series but are backing “Game of Thrones” when it comes to filling in their dream ballots.
“House of Cards” has twice as many Users predicting it to prevail at the Emmys as “Game of Thrones,” but the numbers are reversed on the dream ballot chart. The disconnect between what our Users predict will win Best Comedy Series and what they think should win is even more startling. “Modern Family” has fives times as much support as “Veep” as the predicted champ but ranks only third among those laffers that our Users like the most behind “Parks and Recreation” and “Veep.” Family.”
Our Users own preferences line up with what they expect TV academy voters to go for in Comedy Actor (Jeffrey Tambor, “Transparent“) and Comedy Supporting Actress (Allison Janney, “Mom“). However their love affair with “Parks and Recreation” means they favor Amy Poehler and Chris Pratt. for Comedy Actress and Supporting Actor respectively. While Poehler is second to “Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus in our predictions chart, Pratt is way down in 11th, far behind Ty Burrell (“Modern Family”) who is tipped to take home his third trophy.
The dream picks for Drama Actor (Jon Hamm, “Mad Men”) and Actress (Viola Davis, “How to Get Away with Murder“) — match up with the predicted Emmy winners. Likewise for Drama Supporting Actor (Peter Dinklage, “Game of Thrones). However, our Users would love Dinklage’s co-star Lena Headey to win Drama Supporting Actress but are predicting that 2012 winner Maggie Smith (“Downton Abbey“) will claim a bookend.
