The recording academy has announced key dates for the upcoming 58th Grammy Awards, honoring the best achievements in music during the eligibility period of October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015. After receiving more than 21,000 submissions, the academy’s screening committee comprising 200 music experts has listened to and categorized all entries across 83 categories, and first-round ballots have been mailed to voters. Nominations will be announced on Monday, December 7. (Watch the video at the bottom of this post to see how the academy screens the entries.)
The important dates for Grammy season are as follows:
November 4, 2015: First-round ballots due
November 15, 2015: Deadline to become an academy voting member to vote on the final ballot
December 7, 2015: Nominations announced
January 15, 2016: Final-round ballots due
February 15, 2016: 58th Annual Grammy Awards telecast
