Amy Schumer, get ready to dance all the way to the Emmy winner’s podium. According to Gold Derby’s Top 24 Users (those who did the best predicting last year’s Emmy Awards), “Inside Amy Schumer” will win Best Variety Sketch Series in a landslide, crushing 40-year-old veteran “Saturday Night Live” in the process. A whopping 18 of the Top 24 Users seem convinced “Inside Amy Schumer” will triumph, giving it leading odds of 1/4. Compare that number to only three users who are predicting “SNL,” which is in second place with 11/2 odds. (Three of our Top 24 Users have yet to chime in with their Emmy predictions.)

As this is the first year of the Best Variety Sketch Series category, it’s tough to base predictions on former wins and patterns. Instead, our Top 24 Users may be considering recent critics’ groups as an example of “Inside Amy Schumer’s” potential success. Just this weekend, the show won Best Comedy Series in a bit of a surprise at the Television Critics’ Association Awards. Schumer also won Individual Comedy Performer at the TCAs and Best Comedy Actress at the Critics’ Choice TV Awards.

It’s worth noting that, of last year’s top-scoring Gold Derby users, our #1 user Jonathan Sydel is currently predicting a victory for “Inside Amy Schumer.”

Meanwhile, last year’s second-place user Jose Gonzalez is one of the three Top 24 Users who are backing “Saturday Night Live.”

The other Variety Sketch Series contenders in the running are “Key and Peele,” “Drunk History,” and “Portlandia.”
