Can six-time Emmy loser Jeffrey Tambor (‘Transparent’) take down four-time champ Jim Parsons (‘Big Bang’)?

Poor Jeffrey Tambor. He’s been nominated six different times at the Emmys (see photo gallery below), but has so far come up empty-handed. Will this one-time featured player finally enter the Emmy winner’s circle this year for his buzzed-about leading role on Amazon’s “Transparent“?

Gold Derby’s Experts, Editors, Top 24 Users and All Users are in agreement: Get your Emmy speech ready, Jeffrey!

But for Tambor to win, that means four-time champ Jim Parsons (“The Big Bang Theory“) must lose Best Comedy Actor for the first time since 2012. That was when rival CBS sitcom star Jon Cryer (“Two and a Half Men”) pulled off a jaw-dropper.

Voters may feel the need to move on to someone new this year. Tambor has already won the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice TV Award for his role as a transgender father on “Transparent,” making him the default frontrunner heading into this Emmy season.

According to Gold Derby’s combined predictions, Tambor has leading 10/3 odds to win the Best Comedy Actor race, while Parsons has the runner-up status with odds of 4/1.

Third place goes to Louis C.K. (“Louie”) with 11/2 odds, followed by SAG champ William H. Macy (“Shameless”) in fourth at 13/2, Billy Crystal (“The Comedians”) in fifth with 12/1 odds and Matt LeBlanc (“Episodes”) in sixth at 14/1.

Click on any box and then scroll down to start making your predictions. For each awards show, cast your votes on all of the categories relating to that event.

If you click on the “Emmy Nominations” button and scroll down, you’ll see something like this:

To vote for who you think will win Best Comedy Actor, DRAG six contenders from the left column and DROP them into the right column, arranging them by likelihood of winning.

Every time someone logs their predictions, the racetrack odds of the contestants are automatically updated. If the majority of predictors think Tambor will win, that means he’ll have the best odds and will go to the front of the pack. Conversely, the contenders who don’t receive many predictions have the worst odds and will go to the bottom of the pile.

Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean predicting the categories correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
