Disney debuts the hot new trailer for “Avengers: Age of Ultron” during Monday’s college football national championship game on ESPN. The original superhero film from Marvel was the top box office attraction in 2012 with a haul of $623 million. The new movie also stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson. The villain this time is Ultron, played by three-time Emmy champ James Spader. The film will hit U.S. theaters on May 1. Huffington Post

Netflix unveils its “ominious” new trailer for the third season of “House of Cards.” It does not reveal much, but Francis Underwood’s “penchant for scheming and menacing stares haven’t changed” even though he is now in the White House. Kyle MacLachlan will once again play Special Agent Dale Cooper. The upcoming nine-episode limited series of “Twin Peaks” will be in production for Showtime later this year with several other original cast members also expected back. Creators David Lynch and Mark Frost will return to write all episodes with Lynch directing. The program will air in 2016 to mark the 25th anniversary of the original series finale. TV Line

Brian Lowry reports that comedian James Corden is “ready to throw himself” into his new talk show role for CBS. He will take over “Late Late Show” from the departed Craig Ferguson on March 23. No real specifics are being offered yet about the format, but Corden says he does not feel like he is sacrificing his acting career, which includes the current “Into the Woods.” In other CBS late night news, Stephen Colbert‘s official date to take over “Late Show” from David Letterman will be September 8.
