Jumpsuits are one of the biggest trends these days, and they were modeled by both De Rossi and Pompeo. Katic might have been the surprise of the evening with her Carolina Herrera gown. Co-host Anna Faris is jeered for her funky Juan Calos arrival outfit but cheered for her sequin gown on the actual show. Others panned include Jillian Rose Reed and Katrina Smirnoff. E! Online

John Travolta will return to his TV roots by joining the cast of Ryan Murphy‘s new project “American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson.” He will play defense attorney Robert Shapirio on the 10-part miniseries for FX. Other cast members include Cuba Gooding, Jr., David Schwimmer, and Sarah Paulson. TV Guide

Matt Bomer will play legendary actor Montgomery Clift in an upcoming project for HBO Films. In his prime, Clift rivaled Marlon Brando and James Dean as one of Hollywood’s top stars with films including “A Place in the Sun,” “From Here to Eternity,” and “Judgment at Nuremberg.” He struggled with alcohol and drug addictions plus his sexual orientation. The “Love Is Strange” duo of Ira Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias will rewrite the script, and Larry Moss will direct. Deadline

Emmy Rossum and Michael Pena will co-host Film Independent’s nominee brunch for this year’s Spirit Awards nominees. The event will take place on February 21 in West Hollywood.
