“I’d say Ashley Nell Tipton will win. She’s been pretty consistent so far, won two challenges and has a high taste level,” says Jason Boegh (screen name JB), our $100 “Project Runway” contest champ from last week. “She also feels like an underdog you want to support, and she has a point of view that hasn’t really been expressed on ‘Runway.'” Can YOU take down this top-scoring user? Hurry — make your predictions for next week and you could win our prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate. It’s fun and easy, so start now by scrolling down and predicting who’ll be out next.
Boegh was one of two users to reap top 67% accuracy predicting all of the questions in this week’s contest, though he broke the tie with his high 5,150 point score thanks to using his special 500 and 200 point bets wisely. Since Boegh is eligible, as per our contest rules, he will win a $100 Amazon gift certificate.
This user’s winning predictions were that Gabrielle would be out and that Amanda would be in the bottom two. He only missed out on calling that Blake Patterson would win the challenge, as he predicted Swapnil Shinde instead.
So, how did Boegh did so well? “In choosing this week’s predictions, I really looked at a couple of things: the designers’ track record so far, their personal taste and style level, how they react to the assignment each week and my personal gut instincts about them.”
“This season, there hasn’t really been a standout but there a few designers that are easily distancing themselves from the pack,” he continues. “Those designers are Ashley, Swapnil, Blake, Edmund and Candace. I also like Laurie but I’m not sure how far she’ll go. She hasn’t really made a lot of impact yet.”
As for Boegh’s winner prediction, “My personal favorite is Ashley followed by Candace. It certainly feels like a woman will win this season. My least favorite is Lindsay. Sorry but her personality is off-putting and her designs are beyond boring in my opinion. As a whole, I’m not too impressed with this season. However, it’s early and I’m hopeful it will pick up steam as I do love the ‘Runway.'”
Check out the overall Season 14 leaderboard to the right. Currently our #1 “Project Runway” predictor is JB with overall 56% accuracy and 6,284 points, but there are still many weeks left to play in our contest and be eligible to win our weekly and overall season prizes. See our contest rules.
Making your predictions is fun and easy. Just log into your Gold Derby account, or you can register for a free account via Facebook, Twitter or Google. In our “Project Runway” predictions center, you get to answer the following questions each week:
Which designer will be eliminated?
Who will be in the bottom two, but not out?
Which designer will win the challenge?
Who will win ‘Project Runway’?
At the end of each week, the eligible user with the highest prediction accuracy and most points will win a $100 Amazon gift certificate, so it’s beneficial to keep coming back often and making/updating your predictions.
After logging in, click on the “Predictions” button found at the top-right of every page. That will bring you to a list of every event currently being predicted at Gold Derby — everything from the Emmys and Oscars to “Big Brother” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”
Click on any box and then scroll down to start making your predictions. For each TV show, cast your votes on several different questions relating to the upcoming episode. If you click on the “Project Runway” button, you’ll see something like this:
To vote for who you think will be out next, drag your chosen designers over from the left to the right and arrange them in your predicted order. Every time someone logs their predictions, the racetrack odds of the contestants are automatically updated.
If the majority of users think Amanda will be out, that means she’ll have the best odds and will go to the front of the pack. Conversely, the contestants who don’t receive many predictions have the worst odds and will go to the bottom of the pile.
Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
Average Gold Derby users just like YOU often turn out to be our smartest prognosticators, so it’s important that you give us your predictions. You can continue to update and change your predictions throughout the week, just click “Save Predictions” when you’ve settled on your choice.
