News Nuggets: Casts of ‘Boyhood,’ ‘Birdman’ to present on SAG Awards ceremony

The Screen Actors Guild unveils the first few presenters for their upcoming awards ceremony on January 25. They include “Boyhood” cast members Patricia Arquette, Ellar Coltrane, Ethan Hawke, and Lorelai Linklater and “Birdman” nominees Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, and Emma Stone. In addition, Kevin Costner, Rashida Jones, Ken Howard, Matthew McConaughey, Matt McGorry, and Julia Roberts will also be on stage. The Directors Guild announces its television nominees for 2014. Drama contenders are “Game of Thrones” (Alex Graves), “Homeland” (Dan Attias and Lesli Linka Glatter), “House of Cards” (Jodie Foster), and “True Detective” (Cary Joji Fukunaga). Fred Armisen and Kristen Bell will co-host this year’s Independent Spirit Awards. The event will take place on Saturday, February 21, from the Santa Monica beach.
