‘Survivor: Second Chance’ castoff Ciera Eastin: ‘I’m okay being a witch’ (Podcast)

survivor second chance ciera eastin eliminated exit interview 13579086

“I’m okay being a witch,” says the latest “Survivor: Second Chance” castoff Ciera Eastin to Gold Derby following her elimination. “I didn’t know they were calling [me, Abi-Maria Gomes and Kelley Wentworth] that until I watched the episode back. I know people are offended because when there’s three guys they call them the three amigos and when there’s three girls it’s the three witches, which kind of has a bad ring to it. But I kind of liked it. I’m a big fan of ‘Harry Potter.'”

According to exclusive Gold Derby odds that were derived from the predictions made by contest entrants like you, challenge beast Joe Anglim was the #1 choice to go home with leading 7/5 odds (42% chance). However, it ended up being Ciera and Stephen Fishbach who got sent packing during last week’s back-to-back episodes.

Even though she went home, Ciera wasn’t necessarily voted out. In fact, only because Jeremy Collins used his hidden idol to save Stephen did Ciera get eliminated, as she had the second-highest number of votes. Is there some comfort in knowing she wasn’t supposed to go home that night?

“Definitely, definitely,” says Ciera. “My strength is socially maneuvering and finding those cracks and convincing people to vote with me. I was able to do that with Kelly Wiglesworth and I was able to do that again with Stephen [and also Woo Hwang]. But Jeremy decided to play that idol and there’s not a whole lot I could do about that.”

Also in our chat, Ciera talks about the major differences between “Second Chance” and “Blood vs. Water,” how she used reward victories to her strategic advantage, Andrew Savage‘s reaction to seeing her at Ponderosa and why her mother Laura Morett may not be able to return to “Survivor.” Scroll down to listen to our complete Q&A.
