Hey, ‘Survivor’ fans: Vote for these four longshots to get a second chance

Mike has leading 4/5 odds, or 56% of our users’ votes, to earn the title of Sole Survivor for Season 30. A victory for Mike would make him the 17th male winner overall. Need a refresher on all the former “Survivor” champs? Then be sure to scroll through our “Past Winners” photo gallery below.

In the event Mike doesn’t make it to the end, our readers are predicting an upset victory for Carolyn Rivera. She has 27/10 odds to win, which translates to 27% of the vote.

Both Mike and Carolyn are so popular with fans that they’re in the running to appear on next season of the long-running reality juggernaut, titled “Survivor: Second Chance.” However, if either of them wins “Worlds Apart” tonight, they will automatically be disqualified from returning.

After those two frontrunners, Sierra Thomas follows in third place with 6/1 odds of winning (14%), while Rodney Lavoie comes in fourth place with 25/1 odds (4%).

Poor Will Sims had better just stay at home, as our users give him 100/1 odds of winning this season. That’s 0% of the vote, meaning absolutely nobody at Gold Derby is predicting a victory for Will.

Where do you fall on our overall Season 30 leaderboard?

All season long, three users — Smartdude, Benutty, Taloson — have been battling it out for the top spot, and this week Smartdude remained in the #1 position on our leaderboard with his “smart” predictions of Episode 13. He now has leading 70% prediction accuracy while Benutty and Taloson are tied in second place with 67%. Talk about a true nail-biter!

Rounding out the top five are Sunhound (65%) and JasonNolette (63%). Click here to see where you score on our overall season leaderboard.

Can YOU beat these frontrunners to win our prizes? Then be sure to take part in our “Survivor” prediction contest. We’re giving away $100 Amazon gift certificates to our weekly winners plus at season’s end. The deadline for the season finale is Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT.

Our current overall leader Smartdude predicted Dan’s elimination this week and Tyler’s last week. However, he missed calling the two prior back-to-back ousters of Jenn and Shirin (see complete predix), proving that it’s possible to do well in our contests without getting everything right.

Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.

To vote for who you think will win “Survivor” and who will place second, third, fourth and fifth, be sure to visit our predictions center. You can continue to update and change your predictions throughout the week, just click “Save Predictions” when you’ve settled on your choice.
