Vote now: Will Blake Shelton lose Hannah Kirby from ‘The Voice’ this week?

Will Hannah Kirby be able to survive yet another week on “The Voice“? Her coach, Blake Shelton, saved her on Wednesday’s results show after she failed to receive enough votes from the viewers.

In early results, Gold Derby users are predicting that Kirby may well be eliminated next Tuesday. She has odds of 5/6 of being one of the two people cut from the Top 12 as does Rob Taylor from Christina Aguilera‘s team. Brian Johnson is at 8/11 to potentially be cut from Adam Levine‘s team. Conversely, Shelton’s other two artists — Meghan Linsey (11/2) and Corey Kent White (33/1) — should both be safe. And our users give odds of 14/5 that no Team Blake member will be eliminated.

Do you agree with these predictions? How did you do forecasting the results for Team Blake and the other coaches this past week? The top 20 performed Monday and Tuesday while Wednesday’s results show saw a whopping eight artists cast off.

The official Gold Derby odds predicted seven of the eight who would be eliminated. For Team Blake, we foresaw the eliminations of Brooke Adee and Sarah Potenza. For Team Adam, we predicted correctly the loss of Nathan Hermida and Tonya Boyd-Cannon. For Team Christina, we were exactly right about the removal of Lexi Davila and Sonic. And for Pharrell Williams, we knew that Lowell Oakley would be gone but missed on Koryn Hawthorne (who Williams saved over Caitlin Caporale).

Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering the week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points. As we use those point totals to break ties when more than one user tops our leaderboard with the same number of correct answers, don’t take them for granted.

That’s how Denton Davidson, one of Gold Derby’s top reality TV gurus, won this week’s prediction contest. Along with 19 other people, he scored 100% by correctly predicting one of the two artists eliminated per coach. He racked up the most points by puting his 500 points on Sonic when she had odds of only 9/1 for elimination; her ouster netted him 4,500 points. And he earned 1,000 points for predicting that Boyd-Cannon would get the boot (200 points at 5/1) and 900 points for foreseeing the end of the road for Caparole (200 points at 9/2). His final pick, Adee, was at 1/1 when he predicted her to be eliminated.

Next week, two of the Top 12 will be eliminated. We asked our champ Denton to discuss the pros and cons of each team. He gives his analysis regarding Team Blake below. Click here for yesterday’s article about Team Adam. He will provide commentary about Team Christina and Team Pharrell over the next two days.

Corey Kent White:

Pros – Corey is currently the only country artist on the show, which means he does not have to worry about splitting votes with other contestants within his genre. It also happens to be an extremely popular genre that helped catapult last year’s winner, Craig Wayne Boyd, to victory. His biggest weapon: 46,000 Twitter followers, which more than double the amount of his closest competitor, Sawyer Fredericks from Team Pharrell. If it comes down to a “Twitter save,” no contestant will want to be standing next to him.

Cons – Corey has yet to really connect to the audience. He has all the makings of a potential winner on paper, but can he win the audience over on stage? Vocally, he is probably one of the least interesting singers in the competition.

Meghan Linsey:

Pros – Meghan has a comeback story that people want to cheer for. She had a record deal in the past, a hit on the country charts and even opened for her coach on tour. Everyone likes a story of redemption. Vocally, Linsey can go toe to toe with anyone on this show. If she’s not the best singer in the competition, she is definitely in the top tier.

Cons – With a career in country music behind her and now focused on soul music, there seems to be a bit of confusion on just where Meghan would fit into today’s music scene. She has to figure out a way to secure a core audience who wants music from her and knows what that music will be.

Hannah Kirby:

Pros – Hannah has a unique and captivating performance style that combines quirky, awkward dance moves with pristine, powerful vocals. The magic is that it works for her and makes her stand out. She has been consistently rising up the ranks in the minds of both judges and viewers and could be the dark horse to look out for this season.

Cons – It has been a bumpy road to the top 12. She was dropped after both the battles AND the knockouts but has always been saved to sing another day. America did not vote her through to the top 12, so her own coach chose her to advance. Does she have time to win over the voting public?
