There was no question that former country star Billy Gilman would make it to next week’s Top 12 episode of “The Voice.” He was the final performer on Monday’s live Top 20 episode for Team Adam Levine. Watch his performance of the Roy Orbison classic “Crying’ to see there was barely a dry eye in the house by the time he was done. The home audience used social media to vote him and Josh Gallagher through to next Monday’s live show for Team Adam. The coach then used a save for Brendan Fletcher, meaning Riley Elmore and Simone Gundy are now eliminated.
Will Gilman be able to conquer the rest of the 11 competitors and join the past 10 winners in this photo gallery? Let’s look back at his season so far and background that led him to Season 11 of the Emmy-winning NBC reality show:
According to his official NBC bio, “At the age of 12, Billy released his first country album, One Voice, with Sony Records. The title track earned Billy a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Country Vocal Performance and was on the Billboard Country Top 40 for seven weeks. Billy became the youngest artist to ever have a Top 40 hit and a 2x platinum album.”
Prior to this week’s live show, performances for the year by the Rhode Island native have been “When We Were Young” (blind audition song) by Adele, “Man in the Mirror” (battle song) by Michael Jackson, and “Fight Song” (knockout song) by Rachel Platten.
