‘Dancing with the Stars’ elimination predictions: Maureen McCormick has 8-to-11 odds of going home

Last week our racetrack odds predicted model and actress Amber Rose would be eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars,” and we were right. This week we’re predicting that “Brady Bunch” actress Maureen McCormick will be sent home. See the current standings below, which are based on the forecasts of our predictions contest entrants as of this writing, and check out our complete racetrack odds for Monday night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”

  1. Maureen McCormick — 8/11
  2. Ryan Lochte — 2/1
  3. Terra Jole — 28/1
  4. Jana Kramer — 33/1
  5. Marilu Henner — 100/1
  6. Calvin Johnson — 100/1
  7. No One — 100/1
  8. James Hinchcliffe — 100/1
  9. Laurie Hernandez — 100/1

McCormick is likeliest to be eliminated with 4/5 odds, but she wasn’t actually the lowest scoring contestant. Her samba with pro partner Artem Chigvintsev received 31 out of 40 points from the judges, placing her just ahead of reality TV star Terra Jole and Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, who tied with 30 apiece. So our predictions game players are betting that she’ll fall short with viewer voters.

It wouldn’t be the first time this season that the lowest scoring contestant has been spared. Politician Rick Perry was at the bottom of the leaderboard for the first two weeks of the competition, but viewers sent home actor Jake T. Austin first instead. Often, seeing a contestant in last place on the leaderboard spurs fans to vote more aggressively to save their favorite. That often makes stars in the middle of the pack vulnerable.

But not everyone thinks McCormick is going home. Lochte ranks a close second with 15/8 odds. Jole is next in line, but with 28/1 odds she appears likely to advance to the next round.

Jana Kramer gets 33/1 odds, but that anyone thinks she will be eliminated at all is a surprise. She got the highest score in last week’s show, so it would be mathematically unlikely for her to have few enough viewer votes to be eliminated. It might not be impossible, but it would certainly be the biggest shock of the season so far.

We think the remaining celebs will sail on through to the next round: Marilu Henner, Laurie Hernandez, James Hinchcliffe and Calvin Johnson all have distant 100/1 odds of being eliminated.
