‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season Finale Preview: What to expect on the final night of season 23?

It all comes down to this. The season 23 “Dancing with the Stars” finale airs tonight, November 22, and after 11 weeks of competition 13 celebrities have been narrowed down to three, and one of them will be crowned the Mirror Ball Trophy champion. Will it be Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez, race car driver James Hinchcliffe or football player Calvin Johnson? As of this writing Hernandez is the heavy favorite according to our racetrack odds, but are we underestimating her competitors?

During the two-hour season finale the final three contestants will perform competitively one more time in the “24-Hour Fusion Challenge,” in which they have just one day to prepare a routine that blends two different dance styles. It will be the last chance for the celebrities to add much needed points to their scores in the hopes of securing the Mirror Ball Trophy.

But the finale will not just be about competition. It will also be a celebration of the entire season’s journey. The show will begin with an opening number at the Grove, LA’s famous retail and entertainment complex where all 13 of this season’s competitors will reunite.

There will also be musical performances by season 23 contestants Vanilla Ice (“Ice Ice Baby”) and Babyface (“Winter Wonderland”), as well as season 21 contestant Andy Grammer (“Fresh Eyes”). Then the men of “Dancing with the Stars” will perform to Bruno Mars‘s “24K Magic,” including contestants Hinchcliffe and Johnson and pro dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Val Chmerkovskiy.

Couples from throughout the season will perform some of their most memorable routines. That includes Jana Kramer, who was eliminated last night in fourth place, just missing a spot in the top three, but she’ll get to show off the steamy Argentine tango with partner Gleb Savchenko that put her on the map. Finalist Hernandez will also get reprise her recent trio dance with the Chmerkovskiy brothers.

So who do you think will win the Mirror Ball Trophy, who will finish second and who will finish third?
