1. “Fargo” – 2/1 odds to earn nomination
In 2014, “Fargo” made history as FX’s first show to win a program Emmy. After taking a year off, will the second cycle of this popular anthology series find the same success at the Emmys? Don’t forget, it just won big at the Critics’ Choice Awards with victories for Best Limited Series, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons and Jean Smart.

2. “The People v. O.J. Simpson – 3/1 odds to earn nomination
FX has an embarrassment of riches this year, as the first cycle of its new “American Crime Story” anthology is also going to be a major Emmy contender for its inaugural season about the O.J. Simpson murder trial. And in the hunt for acting trophies are stars Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance, Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta and Connie Britton.

3. “American Crime” – 5/1 odds to earn nomination
Season 2 of ABC’s social issues anthology has earned even better reviews and garnered more buzz than its first cycle, which nabbed 10 Emmy nominations and was a surprise winner last year for Regina King. And now our Top 24 Users think Emmy magic will strike again.

4. “Show Me a Hero” – 12/1 odds to earn nomination
If there is another HBO sweep this year, expect their miniseries “Show Me a Hero” about federal courts in 1987 to do gangbusters at the Emmys. After winning a Golden Globe two months ago, rising star Oscar Isaac could help propel the show to the front of the pack.

5. “Roots” – 12/1 odds to earn nomination
Based on the 1977 miniseries that swept America (and the Emmys), History will air the eight-hour remake over four nights beginning May 30, right at the end of Emmy voting. Sight unseen, our Top 24 Users are predicting nominations for Best Limited Series, Anika Noni Rose and Forest Whitaker.
