Emmy Awards 2016 predictions slugfest: Panicking over Drama, Comedy and Limited Series races (Video)

In our latest Gold Derby editors’ slugfest (watch above), we panic over the 2016 Emmy Awards and make our early predictions in many of this year’s top categories. Unlike years past, we all agree that the tightest races may not be in the Drama and Comedy categories, but instead in the incredibly stacked race for Best Limited Series.

Among the likely Limited Series nominees are “Fargo,” “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” “Roots,” “American Crime,” “Show Me a Hero,” “American Horror Story: Hotel,” “11.22.63,” “The Night Manager,” “Saints and Strangers” and “Flesh and Bone.”

As for Best Drama Series, watch out for top contenders “Game of Thrones,” “House of Cards,” “Better Call Saul,” “Mr. Robot,” “Downton Abbey,” “Orange is the New Black,” “Homeland,” “Vinyl,” “Billions,” and “Narcos.”

And major Best Comedy Series rivals may be “Veep,” “Transparent,” “Modern Family,” “Silicon Valley,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” “Master of None,” “Mozart in the Jungle,” “Black-ish,” “The Last Man on Earth” and “The Big Bang Theory.”
