Emmys 2016: Best winner prediction scores by our Editors and Users

Congratulations to our User eastwest for scoring a very impressive 63.89% when predicting the 2016 Emmy Awards winners on Sunday. Out of 36 categories (including several from last weekend’s creative arts shows), he got 23 correct. He also had a great point total of 26,691 by using the 500 and 200 point bets wisely. Very close to the top score with 61.11% is jacob121 with 18,204 points and Kissellian with 58.33% correct and 45,887 points.

Over 1,500 people worldwide predicted these winners in these comedy, drama, movie/mini, reality and variety races. Our top scorer had several terrific picks, including Maggie Smith for Drama Supporting Actress, RuPaul Charles for Reality Host, “Transparent” for Comedy Directing, “Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke” for Variety Special, “Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping” for Variety Special Writing.

Gold Derby must evaluate each potential winner’s eligibility as per our contest rules. If eligible, the first-place finisher gets a $500 Amazon gift card, the second-place finisher gets a $300 Amazon gift card and the third-place finisher gets a $200 Amazon gift card.

Among Gold Derby’s Editors, Rob Licuria was outstanding with 58.33% correct (21 of 36 categories correct). That tied him (along with Kissellian, Neildobrien, and Quinn Henderson) for the third best percentage overall among all predictors). Paul Sheehan was next with 50% correct, followed by Marcus Dixon with 47.22%. Daniel Montgomery and I are further behind at 44.44% and then Tom O’Neil with 38.89% right.
