Ilana Glazer (‘Broad City’), Gillian Anderson (‘The X-Files’) among your craziest Emmy predictions

The Emmy Awards are notorious for nominating the same people over and over again, much to the frustration of TV fans everywhere. However, every once in a while we’re treated with a true jawdropper, like last year’s Niecy Nash (“Getting On”) and Richard Cabral (“American Crime”). In our lively message boards, our readers are debating which of their crazy Emmy predictions may actually come true this year. Read just a sample of their comments below and then join the discussion in our forums right here.

Discuss the Emmy Awards in our notorious forums

taloson: Ilana Glazer for “Broad City.” The Comedy Lead Actress category is so wide open that I expect a random shocker in there. Kind of like Jemaine Clement sneaking in for “Flight of the Conchords” that one time.

KylieistBoi: Gillian Anderson nominated for Drama Lead Actress (is it really crazy tho??) for “The X-Files.”

Andrew Eng: Kristen Wiig nominated in Mini/Movie Actress for “The Spoils Before Dying.” She got nominated at SAG for this performance a few months ago, and she was Emmy-nominated for its predecessor, “The Spoils of Babylon,” two years ago in the same category.

leothescorpio: Jaime Camil and Sam Richardson respectively getting into Comedy Supporting Actor for “Jane The Virgin” and “Veep.”

JB: “Underground” making a strong showing grabbing noms for Drama Series, Directing, Supporting Actress (Amirah Vann), Casting, Costume Design, Makeup/Hair, Music and more.

FrozenBarbie: Aden Young for best actor, drama. And a writing nomination for “Rectify.”
