Donald Sutherland has been acting in films for five decades but has never received an Oscar nomination. That’s even more shocking considering that he starred in 1980 Best Picture champ “Ordinary People” and 1970 nominee “M*A*S*H.” Sutherland is one of the top 20 living actors without an Academy Awards bid featured in our new photo gallery (tour all images above).
We have offered other versions of this gallery in the past that included such actors as Michael Keaton (“Birdman”), Matthew McConaughey (“Dallas Buyers Club”), and Christopher Plummer (“Beginners”) who have since reaped Oscar glory. To that end, a few of our current top 20 have major projects this year: Colin Farrell (“The Lobster”), John Goodman (“10 Cloverfield Lane”), Hugh Grant (“Florence Foster Jenkins”), Steve Martin (“Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk”), and Ewan McGregor (“American Pastoral”) are currently in our Oscars predictions center.
The rest of our gallery features men who have been Golden Globe, SAG or critics’ nominees or winners. Who else made the cut? Tour through the gallery now (a separate gallery featuring actresses without Oscar nominations will be active soon).
