Jennifer Aniston probably thought she was headed to her first ever Oscar nomination two years ago after Golden Globes and SAG Awards bids for “Cake.” Emily Blunt is in the same situation this year with a SAG nom for “The Girl on the Train,” but has lowly odds for the Academy Awards. Scarlett Johansson most likely had her best chance with the Oscars in 2003 with “Lost in Translation” and “The Girl With the Pearl Earring.” These are just three of the Top 20 living actresses who have never even been nominated by Oscar voters now featured in our new photo gallery (tour all images above).
We have offered other versions of this gallery in the past that included such actresses as Jennifer Jason Leigh, Rachel McAdams and many more. For last year’s Oscar ceremony, both Leigh (“The Hateful Eight”) and McAdams (“Spotlight”) jumped off our snub list and were nominated as Best Supporting Actress.
Others featured in our gallery this time include Ellen Barkin, Drew Barrymore, Maria Bello, Carol Burnett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Hope Davis, Cameron Diaz, Kirsten Dunst, Mia Farrow, Pam Grier, Allison Janney, Lisa Kudrow, Andie MacDowell, Demi Moore, Rene Russo, Meg Ryan, and Robin Wright. Each of these ladies has been Golden Globe, SAG or critics’ nominees or winners.
