Do you agree with the Oscars that her role as Tiffany in “Silver Linings Playbook” (2012) is the best performance of her career? She won Best Actress for her portrayal as a girl with depression problems who forces Pat (Bradley Cooper) to bond with her. This was Lawrence’s first outing with Cooper, but it wouldn’t be her last as she also played opposite him in “American Hustle” (2013) and “Joy” (2015) and earned Oscar nominations for both. They also co-starred in “Serena,” in which she took on the title character in this Depression-era love story.
While Lawrence’s industry successes keep her top of mind every awards season, she is a household name the world over thanks to her work in two blockbuster franchises. In “The Hunger Games” movies she played kick-butt archer Katniss Everdeen, and in the “X-Men” franchise she took over the role of mutant shapeshifter Mystique from Rebecca Romijn.

Before she hit stardom, Lawrence starred in a pair of low-budget films: “Winter’s Bone” (2010), for which she earned her first career Oscar nom for playing Ree, and “House at the End of the Street” (2012), where she frightened audiences as Elissa. But before all of that, Lawrence first entered America’s consciousness as the daughter of the central character of the TBS family sitcom “The Bill Engvall Show” (2007-09).
Coming up next for Jennifer Lawrence is “Passengers” (watch the trailer here), a sci-fi mystery in which she plays an astronaut named Aurora who wakes up 90 years too soon. Be sure to vote in our poll below about which of these 10 roles is her best.
