Despite the fact that HBO’s critically acclaimed “Silicon Valley” has been nominated for two Best Comedy Series Emmys, none of the show’s hilarious cast members have yet received bids from the TV academy. That includes lead actor Thomas Middleditch and supporting players T.J. Miller, Martin Starr, Kumail Nanjiani and Zach Woods. Will any of the show’s actors finally earn a nomination for Season 3, which premieres Sunday, April 24 at 10 p.m.? Watch the trailer above.
“Silicon Valley” has had great luck with award shows over the past two years, earning two Emmy wins (Best Production Design and Best Comedy Editing) from a total of 12 nominations. However, its biggest triumph came last year at the Critics’ Choice TV Awards, where it won Best Comedy Series for Season 2.
As for its actors, Miller won the Critics’ Choice Award last year, while Middleditch was nominated for both of the first two seasons and the late Christopher Evan Welch was nommed in 2014.
The laffer was also feted by no less than seven guild awards throughout 2015: Producers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America, Writers Guild of America, American Cinema Editors, Art Directors Guild, Cinema Audio Society and Casting Society of America.
Season 3 of “Silicon Valley” begins where last year left off, with Richard (Middleditch) ousted as CEO of Pied Piper and offered a much smaller role within the company. Meanwhile, the rest of the group — Erlich (Miller), Gilfoyle (Starr), Dinesh (Nanjiani) and Jared (Woods) — must question their own loyalty as the company continues to grow.
