[WATCH] ‘Stranger Things’ mashup with ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’

Stranger Things” was the hottest show this summer and now is the subject of a must-watch parody by YouTube stars Leigh Lahav and Oren Mendez. The pair have created an animated short that envisions the 1980s world “Stranger Things” in the style of the classic Peanuts special “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Will Byers has returned from the Upside Down and is having a hard time readjusting to life. Just as Charlie Brown did, he tell his troubles to his best pal Dustin (think Linus). He takes up the suggestion that he seek professional advice from Eleven, who has set up a psychiatric booth just like Lucy. She is of little help, only able to say one word. Neither is Will’s mother, who responds to his pleas in that unintelligible wah-wah of all adults in the Peanuts world. Will even seeks solace from the Demogorgon, who sits atop Snoopy’s dog house.

Just when all seems lost for Will, he rallies when his friends, including Lucas (Franklin), gather round to teach him that what is most important in life. He realizes he is lucky to have friends and family that “truly care about you, folks that would do anything to get you out of a creepy, parallel swamp universe.”
