Premiering Wednesday on CBS, “Survivor: Kaoh Rong” will be the second iteration of the “Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty” theme where 18 new castaways are divided into three tribes based on their cunning, strength or good looks. To help guide your predictions, we’ve watched all of their pre-game interviews and provide quick analyses on each contestant as well as their exclusive Gold Derby odds to win Season 32. Below, see our take on the Chan Loh (Brains) tribe and then hurry and make your “Survivor” predictions for a chance to top our famous leaderboards. It’s fun and easy, so start now by scrolling down to predict who will be voted out first.
Aubry Bracco — 33/1 odds to win
Aubry is proud of being weird and awkward. In fact, she wholly embraces it and envisions making it into an advantage in the game. Aubry’s plan is to make people laugh and play a tight social game. That’s great, but the physical aspect is a huge part of Survivor and I think she might be an early target if her tribe can’t get through some immunity challenges.
Debbie Wanner — 100/1 odds to win
Debbie’s biggest asset is that she’s on the Brains tribe and not the Brawn tribe. I say that because coming from a military family as she does, producers could have made a case for her among the strong. I mean, she looks the part, too. But she’s with the brains and her strength compared to the other women on her tribe will be what saves her from being an initial target for elimination.
Elisabeth Markham — 17/2 odds to win
The best thing about Elisabeth’s strategy is that she’s modeling it after Claire Underwood (from “House of Cards”) and Littlefinger (from “Game of Thrones”). So she’s going the manipulative, cunning and ruthless route and I LOVE that. It’s also interesting that she once made a career of counting cards in Vegas and thinks that experience will help her know when to make the right moves. Oh, and she prepared with some jungle survival training so she can probably climb trees, catch fish and start fires. She’s a “Survivor” triple threat, basically.
Joseph Del Campo — 100/1 odds to win
Currently the odds-on favorite to be the first eliminated (he has 2/1 odds in that race), Joseph actually comes off as one of the most likable members of this tribe. Joseph stresses his dedication to fitness, especially as a 71-year old former FBI agent and member of the Navy. The sense of adventure is what brings him to the game of “Survivor” and with that kind of excitement I think the inevitable worry of his tribe that he may be too old will be greatly diminished. Honestly, I’d hate to see him go first.
Neal Gottlieb — 28/1 odds to win
I love that Neal is an entrepreneur in the ice cream business and doesn’t eat ice cream, but in preparation for “Survivor” started eating a lot of ice cream. Why? Because he wanted to gain weight, not just for the calories, but to disguise the fact that he’s a physical threat and will eventually shed the gut to display a six-pack of abs around the time the game becomes individual. If that isn’t the best “Survivor” strategy I’ve ever heard, then I give up. I can’t wait to see his strategy blossom.
Peter Baggenstos — 13/2 odds to win
Peter is another one that just by looking at him you might assume belongs on the Brawn tribe, but no, he’s a doctor and he comes from a family of doctors. And he, too, has a great if not unconventional strategy — instead of learning how to build fires (he was worried about practicing and annoying his neighbors) he decided his tribe should just win an early challenge and have fire given to them. I mean, it’s an easy strategy, but the last time we had Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty, the Brains tribe lost the first two challenges. In any event, Peter is second in the predictions to win and keeps 100/1 odds to be eliminated this week so it must work out, right?
In our “Survivor” predictions center, you get to answer the following questions before each episode airs on CBS every Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET.:
Who will win ‘Survivor: Kaoh Rong’?
Which castaway will be eliminated?
Who will win the Reward challenge?
Who will win the Immunity challenge?
Will a hidden Immunity idol be played?
Will anybody quit or be medically evacuated?
At the end of each week, the eligible user with the highest prediction accuracy and most points will be the leaderboard champ for the week, so it’s beneficial to keep coming back often and making/updating your predictions.
Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
