[PODCAST] ‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’ castoff Michaela Bradshaw: ‘I can respect’ Jay Starrett’s decision to blindside me

Jay Starrett felt threatened, he felt like my presence could take away his chance to change his family’s future, and I can respect that,” reveals “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” castoff Michaela Bradshaw to Gold Derby after her elimination in Episode 7 thanks to Jay turning on his former Millennial ally. “I was over it within 30 or 40 minutes because it’s a game, I get it. “Jay was thinking like a traditional ‘Survivor’ player and I was thinking like Michaela in my regular life,” she continues. “In my regular life, the more I can help other people, the more that I get. But in ‘Survivor,’ you’ve got to fight for you and that’s just a philosophical mistake that I made in the game.”

Michaela also explains why she was so opposed to Jessica “Figgy” Figueroa and Taylor Stocker starting up a heated showmance on the Millennials tribe. “I’m a task-oriented person and so when we first hit the beach, I want to be building this shelter because Jeff Probst clearly said there were clouds in the sky and there was going to be rain. Figgy was the one person I never saw picking up a piece of bamboo to contribute to the shelter and so that agitated me off the jump. Second, like I said, we stink, we’re dirty, so have some decorum with your relationship. Anybody I’m dating would not kiss me if my breath stinks. And then third, I had heard Taylor talking about a girlfriend, so I was like, oh this is disrespectful, there is somebody else!”

Also in our Q&A podcast, Michaela chats about whether she thinks the Millennials would have all stuck together if she’d made it to next week’s merge, she explains why she applied to be on “Survivor” in the first place, and she tells us who she wants to win the $1 million prize.
