[PHOTOS] Top 11 ‘Stranger Things’ moments from Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown)

Millie Bobby Brown has become one of the breakout stars of 2016 and has even earned a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy actress for her role on Netflix’s science fiction-drama, “Stranger Things.” The 12-year-old actress plays Eleven, nicknamed El, a young girl subjected to multiple scientific experiments in a secret laboratory run by the mysterious and menacing Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine). El has special psychokinetic abilities that allow her to exist in alternate dimensions and manipulate any object around her, including other people. When Eleven escapes from the lab, she finds herself involved with Mike (Finn Wolfhard), whose friend Will (Noah Schnapp) has mysteriously vanished. Mike befriends El, who claims to know where Will is. El reluctantly helps Mike and Will’s mother Joyce (Winona Ryder), all while trying to evade capture by Dr. Brenner.

What makes El so fascinating is her childlike, almost infantile personality juxtaposed against her more violent actions, which El does not hesitate to demonstrate when she or her friends are threatened. One moment, El is a frightened child afraid of the slightest human contact, and the next she uses her power to send a van somersaulting skyward.
