Can’t wait for “X-Men: Apocalyspse” to hit theaters on Friday (May 27)? We have a sneak peek at what fans will see in this ninth installment in the film franchise. Directed by Bryan Singer, this 3-D epic tells the story of Apocalypse (Oscar Issac), the original mutant, who has been worshipped as a god for millenia. Awakened from hibernation, he is horrified at the sorry state of the world. With the help of four followers, he sets out to destroy humanity, believing this to be the only way to rescue the planet.
In this, the final trailer for the film, we learn that part of his plan is to kidnap X-Men head honcho Charles Xavier (James McAvoy). That leaves Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) in charge of the young X-Men who set out to rescue their leader. And, at the end of an action-packed two and a half minutes, this trailer confirms the rumor that Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine.
In-between, we see Magneto (Michael Fassbender) confront Xavier, Quicksilver (Evan Peters) confess to Mystique and the latter contemplate her growing fame. And keep your eye out for shots of “Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner, who plays Jean Gray, one of Xavier’s most prized students.
