Ten-time ACM Award winners Lady Antebellum will announce this year’s contenders on “CBS This Morning” at 8:00am Eastern (delayed on the west coast). After that, at 8:50am Eastern (5:50am Pacific), “Entertainment Tonight” hosts Nancy O’Dell and Kevin Frazier will announce more contenders on ETonline.com. Once those have been revealed, the full list of nominations will be available at ACMcountry.com.
At last year’s ACM Awards, Jason Aldean was the surprise winner of Entertainer of the Year. That was the first victory in the top category for Aldean, who had been nominated four times before. He defeated Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and the previous year’s winner Luke Bryan. But the biggest winner of the night was Chris Stapleton, who won six out of his seven nominations, including Male Vocalist of the Year. Lambert claimed Female Vocalist of the Year for the seventh year in a row.
In addition to those names, we might see recent Grammy champs Sturgill Simpson and Maren Morris make an appearance. Two-time Entertainer of the Year champ Carrie Underwood (2008-2009) could also make another strong impact.
