‘AHS: Cult’ has clowns, bees and Trump: Is ‘American Horror Story’ Season 7 the scariest yet? [POLL]

It has clowns. It has bees. It has Trump. Hmm, is “AHS: Cult” the most frightening season yet of FX’s anthology series “American Horror Story”? Or does that honor go a previous installment? Vote in our poll below to let us know what season YOU think is the scariest.

“American Horror Story” Season 7 begins on election night 2016, when anxieties are heightened after Donald Trump beats Hillary Clinton to become President of the United States. Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are back for another round of fears and tears, but they’re not the only ones. Click through our photo gallery above to see all of the official “AHS: Cult” cast photos.

Paulson plays Ally Mayfair-Richards, a woman whose former phobias come back to haunt her following Trump’s success with the electoral college. She begins seeing clowns everywhere, including the terrifying Twisty (John Carroll Lynch) who originally popped up in “AHS: Freak Show.” And Peters takes on the role of Kai Anderson, a cult leader in the making who has terrorized Ally and her wife (played by Alison Pill) on more than one occasion.

After three episodes, our readers are so far decidedly mixed on “AHS: Cult.” Below, see a few of their comments. Be sure to join the discussion to read them all.

forwardswill: “Not nearly scary enough but still fairly riveting all the same. Peters is a fucking revelation in the role, each of his scenes an utter thrill due to his completely unpredictable performance”

unbb24: “I like the season premiere. It’s really very different from the previous seasons since it is grounded. Plus, I got scared a bit and I kinda made a bad decision of watching it before I sleep.”

eric: “The episode is amazing, I really liked it a lot. Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Billie Lourd are really good.”

roc39ryan: “Paulson is easily one of my favourite actresses which truly speaks to just how irritating her character is because I hate Ally sooooo much dear god. That being said Peters is transcendent and Lourd is brilliant.”

vinny: “[Episode 3] … I would give it an A+. More and more convinced that everyone is just trying to drive Ally crazy except for Oz lol.”
