
“American Horror Story” fans, at long last showrunner Ryan Murphy has revealed the theme of the seventh installment of FX’s anthology series, and we’re betting it’s something you never would have guessed. “I don’t have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through,” Murphy confirmed to Andy Cohen on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live.” Murphy added, “I think that will be interesting for a lot of people,” and then he hinted that “maybe” Presidential Donald Trump would even pop up. Oh, the horrors!

Only Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are confirmed to return in Season 7, but we’re guessing any number of folks from past cycles will be returning yet again, including Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Lily Rabe, Denis O’Hare, Wes Bentley, Cuba Gooding Jr., Andre Holland and Lady Gaga. Reactions for the most recent season, “American Horror Story: Roanoke,” were generally positive, with 46% of fans voting in our poll from last year that it was even better when compared to “AHS: Asylum.” Viewership ratings for 2016’s “AHS: Roanoke” were also up after the weak “AHS: Hotel” season in 2015.
