“American Horror Story” creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that Twisty the Clown will be back for season 7 of the FX anthology series. He was the main villain in the season four installment, “Freak Show,” and is set to be at the center of this new edition, which is said to center on the 2016 US presidential election.
Murphy announced this casting news via Twitter and also teased that the title for this new season will be revealed on July 21. We do know that “AHS” alumni Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are set to headline. And comedian Billy Eichner will recur in multiple episodes as a confidante of Paulson’s character.
Each season of “American Horror Story” typically features a mix of numerous returning cast members and newcomers in memorable roles, including Lady Gaga. The Grammy winning singer picked up a Golden Globe for her role as a vampire in season five, “Hotel.” The most recent season of the anthology horror series, subtitled “Roanoke,” premiered last fall and hopes to add to the groundbreaking show’s Emmy tally. “AHS” has won 15 awards for its first five seasons, but it’s still awaiting its first victory for Best Limited Series.
