‘America’s Got Talent’: Angelica Rice earns standing ovation with ‘Rise Up’ [WATCH]

Another week on “America’s Got Talent” and another talented tyke who could win the show. On last week’s premiere, it was Darci Lynne Farmer, a 12-year-old ventriloquist who wowed all four judges. In Tuesday’s episode, 9-year-old Angelica Hale had the judges on their feet after her jaw-dropping performance of “Rise Up.”

We were introduced to Hale via a videotape that recounted her comeback from a health crisis. At just four years of age, she had kidney disease and her mother donated one of hers. Five years on and Hale strode out on the stage of “AGT” to tell the judges, “I want to be the next Whitney Houston. I want to be a superstar.”

Within seconds of starting her song, Andra Day‘s Grammy-nominated “Rise Up,” the judges, audience and viewers were all in agreement that Hale was well on her way to making her dream come true. As Simon Cowell told her, “You’re tiny. You’re voice is huge. You are absolutely brilliant.” Howie Mandel declared, “I predict all your dreams will come true, you lady.” Concurred Heidi Klum, “You said you want to be a superstar. I think that might happen for you.”

After Mel B told Hale, “You are so special, your voice is so amazing,” the self-assured youngster admitted that this one-time member of the Spice Girls was her favorite judge. That prompted Mel B to rise up out of her chair and take to the stage to hug Hale .
