‘America’s Got Talent’ winners: Grace VanderWaal was best of first 11 seasons, say 90% of readers

Season 12 of “America’s Got Talent” is only two weeks old but there is already a clear frontrunner: Darci Lynne Farmer, a 12-year-old ventriloquist who wowed all four judges. She could well be the second tyke to take this title in as many years. Last year’s winner was another 12-year-old: singer Grace VanderWaal.

When we asked you who your favorite winner was from the first 11 seasons of “AGT,” you overwhelmingly went with VanderWaal. She nabbed a whopping 90% of your votes in our poll. If you haven’t cast your ballot yet, be sure to do so in the poll at the bottom of this post.

Farmer would be the third ventriloquist to win “America’s Got Talent” following Terry Fator and Paul Zerdin who prevailed in seasons two and 10 respectively. This Oklahoma City, OK native had the fearsome foursome — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B. — rooting for her with her winsome ways. She admitted that she began working with her puppet Petunia, a rascally rabbit, just two years to overcome her shyness. Farmer’s audition has been watched by more than 175 million people on YouTube and Facebook.

Besides the three past champs mentioned above, there have also been a slew of singers, a dancer (Kenichi Ebina), a magician (Mat Franco) and even an animal act (Olate Dogs). Scroll through the past winners in our photo gallery above, and then cast your vote in the poll below.
