Nominations for the 2017 British Academy Film Awards (otherwise known as the BAFTAs) were announced Tuesday. These kudos, honoring the best British and international contributions to film, will be handed out on Feb. 12 in a ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Golden Globe champ “La La Land” leads all films with 11 nominations, while “Arrival” and “Nocturnal Animals” tie for second place with nine bids apiece. While the BAFTA nominations were announced three days before Oscar nominations voting ends on Friday (Jan. 13), the winners will be revealed the day before final Oscar voting begins.
