‘Big Brother’ head-scratcher: 3 unanswered questions about Jessica Graf’s Halting Hex

In the two weeks since America granted Jessica Graf the final temptation of the Halting Hex, “Big Brother” viewers have been confused as to what Jessica’s power actually entails. Now that Jessica and her live-in boyfriend Cody Nickson are nominated for eviction, there’s a strong chance Jessica will use the Hex during Thursday’s live eviction. But what are the specific rules and how will they play out? Scroll down to see our Top 3 unanswered questions about the Halting Hex, and then be sure to make your “Big Brother” 19 predictions for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift certificate. It’s fun and easy, so start predicting right now.

Will anybody be evicted?
Jessica’s power is called the “Halting” Hex, implying the eviction will be stopped. But that begs the question, for how long will the eviction be put on hold? Will it be halted for one hour, for one day, for one week? If the eviction is put on hold for the week then it seems to reason that nobody will be going home on Thursday, and host Julie Chen will have no choice but to interview herself in front of the live studio audience.

Will the nominees be replaced?
Current Head of Household Paul Abrahamian seems to believe that if Jessica uses the Hex to save both her and Cody, then Paul will have to nominate two other people for eviction. Is Paul right? Or is he making an assumption without having all of the facts? Whatever the case, we know that Mark Jansen cannot be put up as a replacement nominee because he received safety in the first-ever Temptation Competition. And since Jason Dent lost that challenge, he is the third nominee this week.

Can Jessica halt only one nominee?
Let’s say that challenge beast Cody wins the Veto and takes himself off of the block, leaving only Jessica, Jason and a replacement nominee in the running to be evicted in 12th place. Can Jessica choose to halt only her portion of the eviction, and let the other two nominees duke it out for who gets sent packing? That would in essence make Jessica’s temptation nothing more than an immunity necklace, but she’d still be safe at the end of the day.
