Blake Shelton may have lost his bid for Best Male Video at Wednesday’s CMT Awards for his hit song “Came Here to Forget” but he was a winner when he took to the stage of the Music City Center to perform his new single “Every Time I Hear That Song.” Shelton had the audience in the Music City Center swaying along to this catchy tune. Watch his rollicking performance above.
Both tunes are from Shelton’s chart-topping 2016 album “If I’m Honest,” earned some of the best reviews of the year. “Came Here to Forget” was the first single from the disc, and reached the top of the charts last spring. “Every Time I Hear That Song” was released to the radio just a few weeks ago after Shelton sung it on “The Voice.”
While Shelton may have walked away empty-handed from this year’s CMT Awards, he has four of these already lining her crowded mantle. He lost the race for Best Male Video to Keith Urban, who won both that award and Video of the Year for “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” Urban also claimed Social Superstar, a prize that Shelton took last year. And he shared the Collaboration award with Carrie Underwood for “The Fighter,” which they performed on the show.
